This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is home to a wonderfully diverse group of students who are learning to navigate who they are and how they fit into the world. Many of them face challenges related to identity, belonging and self-expression. As the advisor of our schools’ identity club, I make sure that our club is a safe and welcoming space where students can gather, share experiences, celebrate culture, and explore what makes them unique. Having snacks and games enhance student engagement, promotes meaningful conversations and creates a positive a community free of judgment.
