My Project

Investing in a set of panel mats for our Algebra 1 classroom offers a unique opportunity to lay a crucial, tangible foundation for students' future success in geometry. While our current curriculum focuses primarily on algebraic concepts, introducing the fundamental principles of angle calculation through kinesthetic learning will provide an invaluable advantage as they transition to geometry in the following school year. Utilizing movement and spatial awareness inspired by tumbling on these mats, students will actively explore and internalize the concepts of acute, obtuse, and right angles, moving beyond abstract definitions to develop an embodied understanding. This early, hands-on engagement will build familiarity and confidence with geometric ideas, making the subject less intimidating and more accessible when they encounter it formally. By providing this concrete experience in Algebra 1, we aim to equip our students with a stronger intuitive grasp of spatial relationships and angle properties, ultimately enhancing their comprehension and setting them on a path for greater achievement in subsequent mathematics courses.
