My gym and classroom is a bright, upbeat positive environment for all of my students to learn and be successful in. I enjoy having my students come into class ready to learn and ready for the next lesson! I have grown to adore my students and want to give them everything I can!
My students live in a very diverse area where school is looked at as a safe and fun environment for them.
My school is very old, but inside the walls has a lot to offer. We are trying to improve the learning environment in any way we can since our building is lacking. We try to create a positive and loving environment. These 7th and 8th graders come to school on a daily basis to enjoy the stability we give them and to be a part of something bigger than themselves. We use every opportunity we can to allow our students to feel like this is home. We treat our kids with respect, and they give it back. We create a positive place for our students and give them the accountability they need. Day in and day out students come to school excited about the new opportunities.
My Project
The building I work in is very old and the amount of funding we get is limited. With that being said you can imagine we don't have an ice machine!
When there are injuries in PE or during school sporting events the task is daunting to get students ice, if needed.
I have small trays of ice I keep in the staff lounge freezer. I have to walk to the staff lounge, break the ice out of the tray, fill a zip lock, refill the ice tray with water, put the tray back and then walk back down to the gym.
To think of the luxury of having our own ice machine in the PE department area is a dream! It would be so much faster and efficient. Having easy access to necessities helps me and my students feel safe and at ease.
