My classroom is a fun and energetic place where students are learning new and challenging things every day. We are into our 3rd year as a Project-Based environment, where the students guide their own learning and reach their own goals. When my students enter my classroom they are in a safe learning environment where mistakes are okay. Whenever we learn something new, I tell them that "trying your best is what I want, if you make a mistake we just learn from them." Most of the students in my class come from hard home lives that are challenging and sometimes stressful. So we have built an environment where we come to learn every day.
My Project
Over the past couple years our school has really struggled with keeping up with the amount of ice the students need everyday. Many of the students in our school fall, get hurt, or bump something and need ice. Unfortunately as a school we can not keep up with the student demand for ice, which means they are not staying focused on their learning. The students do better at learning when they are able to take focus off their bumps and bruises and focus more on the learning at hand.
Our students need to have an ice maker so that our school never runs out of ice.
An ice maker will allow for of the students in our school to become more focused on their learning.
