Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students continue to require touch screen technology with applications that support their communication, fine motor, and cognitive needs. Students with disabilities are already at a disadvantage when it comes to accessing the general education curriculum. It is imperative that they have adapted materials that can be zoomed, cropped, and made accessible. Many of my students are prewriters; thus they are not yet able to give written responses. Their alternative assessment curriculum is also available virtually, we just need iPads to support this feature. Most students are familiar with this technology as well. It bridges the gap between school and home to support our kiddos.
