Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My kinders are bright, vivacious, kind, inquisitive, and have an unquenchable thirst for learning. I teach in a high poverty title one school, meaning that all my students qualify for free lunch. My students vary greatly in their social, emotional, behavioral, and academic strengths. My classroom is a very diverse inclusive environment with students with disabilities and also many English language learners. My classroom is a bright, warm, inviting place where students, staff, and families feel welcome.
My students face many challenges socially, emotionally, and academically, and I strive each day to provide my students with a first-class education because they deserve it.
My students never cease to amaze me as they overcome stereotypes and generalizations on a daily basis. They are truly resilient in every sense of the word and make me smile and laugh each day. They have a great love for all things learning and are always eager to "grow their brains".
My Project
These iPads will make a huge impact on my students' lives! The iPads will be used on a daily basis to bring 21st century learning into the classroom by using different educational apps to reinforce reading, writing, and math skills. The iPads will be used mostly for small group instruction and with one-on-one intervention tutors for reading and math.
These tools will make learning exciting, fun, and interactive for my students, and will be especially helpful for my students with special needs and English Language Learners.
There are apps for picture exchange communication, schedules, calming music, speech development, read alouds, fine motor development and so much more! My students deserve to have access to technology that will enhance their educational environment and encourage them to achieve the necessary skills to function in the 21st century.
