My Students

I Can! are the first two words my students learn and is the overall theme of our kindergarten classroom. Just as their first reader says, "I can read. I can sing. I can run. I can think. I can count. I can swing. I can do anything."

Five and six-year-old children are inquisitive, loving, enthusiastic learners.

They thrive on hands-on, active learning at their level of readiness. The students read books in the classroom library. They count, add and subtract using manipulatives in the math center. Music and stories are available in the listening area. Marker boards, paper and magnet boards encourage student to write and build words. They explore using items in the science center. Our kindergarten classroom enables children to think and learn in a variety of settings.

My Project

My students will use an iPad mini 2 for extra practice in reading, math, science and social studies. The wide range of apps available for an iPad mini 2 will allow me to meet the various needs and levels of my students. Along with reinforcing concepts, an iPad mini 2's touch screen will aid in my students' independent use of technology.

While I try to provide my students with hands-on learning, at their individual learning levels, their daily use of technology is limited.

An iPad mini 2 will give my students more opportunities to use up-to-date technology, while reinforcing classroom concepts.
