Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

iCan learn too.
Because of the many disabilities present in our classroom, an iPad cant meet many needs. Students can use the iPads as communication devices as well as a way to strengthen their core academic skills. I teach a self-contained class of 7 students. My students have a variety of special needs. The makeup of our class are students with autism, downs syndrome, cerebral palsy, and others who have physical disabilities. Some are verbal and some aren't. But, believe me, they can all get their point across. They are full of life and happiness. My students are eager to learn and even more eager to use technology. My students enjoy following routines, working on computers, smart boards and iPads. Our school is in a low socioeconomic area. But we have the best students around!
My Project
Our previous iPads, which we used daily, were stolen over the weekend. We use them to access our monthly curriculum, also using them every day to build on IEP goals. Sometimes our iPad was used as a reward. We listened to stories on our iPad and made books on it; along with playing small group games. Students were able to practice a certain skill through games. My kids do best by being engaged and 2 new iPads with protective cases are a phenomenal way to engage my students.
My kids will be so excited to have their favorite technology back.
The iPad has so many opportunities to challenge each and every one of my students and will help them to become more independent.
