My Students
I teach 6th-grade special education in a self-contained setting. My students are from a high poverty area. They are very excited to be back in the classroom this year after being remote for COVID 19! My students could benefit greatly from new supplies and tangible learning items. TA few years ago, our school was slated to be closed by the NYC DOE but we were able to fight back and the students were given another chance to shine! As a teacher, I am always willing to give anything to my students that will benefit them.
In order to bring the learning environment to the next level, my students need some basic tools to show everyone how amazing they are!
These students come to school with very little and I want to be able to provide a better learning environment for them. Supplying students with basic supplies is vital to my classroom! Other supplies and resources will ensure that they are able to learn in a highly engaging environment.
My Project
I asked for adapters for my students headphones as well as stylus pens that they can use to more effectively use their ipads. I also asked for some classroom basics that the students will use daily. The iPads are used daily for multiple subjects and having these tools will make some of the learning tools easier to navigate.
I added some snacks to fill hungry bellies throughout the day!
We have lunch 2nd to last period and my students often need a pick me up! All of these items will greatly enhance the learning environment in my classroom.
