As an educator I want to providing meaningful and motivating opportunities for my students to engage in learning.

I want my students to love learning and engage in problem solving. Help me meet my goal!

I teach 26 diverse first grade students.

Many of my students travel from all of the world so their parents can attend University in the United States. They are eager to learn and discover the world around them. Their parents are doing everything they can to set their students up for success. In my community there is a strong passion for education.

My Project

If my project is funded I will receive an Osmo. Osmo is an award-winning game system that will change the way my students interact with our iPads by opening it up to hands-on play. It uses an iPad accessory to allow students to manipulate shapes, numbers, letters, and even drawings through the camera. The iPad gives them automatic feedback on their learning objective.

Students can play games that promote one to one correspondence in counting, addition and subtraction games, games that make spelling fun, games that explore shapes, and they can also learn how to draw many different animals through the use of the Osmo.

Since the Osmo is engaging and student friendly, this provides my students with a variety of meaningful learning centers. Students can work independently using the Osmo or in small groups. This frees my time so I can provide students with small group instruction in the areas of reading and math. Being able to meet with my students in small groups allows me to meet their individual needs. Thank you for helping me reach the needs of all my students!
