My Students

My classroom blooms with diversity. My bright young first graders have a passion for learning. I use technology on a daily basis to keep my students engaged. Technology is highly motivating for my students and provides opportunities for active learning.

I have 23 students from all around the world including Nepal, India, China, Africa, Mongolia, and Argentina.

Our school is located near the local University, so many students moved to our state so their parents could attend college. Our school is full of diversity which is celebrated to the fullest. My students come to school every day excited to learn new things. It is my desire to be the best teacher and create meaningful and engaging learning experiences for them on a daily basis.

My Project

I am extremely fortunate to have a SmartBoard in my classroom. However, the computer that controls my SmartBoard is located in the back of my classroom. If the SmartBoard has a glitch I have to walk to the back of the classroom and fix it. Which is return, causes the students to lose focus. Therefore, I would use the iPad to mirror the desktop so I can control the SmartBoard from any location in our classroom. I will also utilize the iPad as an instructional tool to meet the needs of my diverse students. For example, I have a student who is having difficulty adding. I will have him practice addition in fun and meaningful ways. As for the scanner, printer, copier, I will utilize this to create home school connections on my class website. I will scan my homework and post it, in case students lose it. There is not a scanner at my school making this impossible. It will also be convenient to have a copier in my class if a parent wants a copy of a paper or form.

By providing our classroom with an iPad you will increase student engagement and provide seamless technology use.

You will also provide students with opportunities to use the iPad at their instructional level. By providing our class with a scanner you will increase home school connections by providing a way to post homework and other materials on the website. You will also provide me with easy access to a copy machine and printer. Thank you for helping us create a productive learning environment.
