My students need an iPad with protective case and accessories to upload, and publish artwork to online museum. They will also create QR readers for artwork and vocabulary words.
Everyday my students are engaged in the world of art through art principles and elements. I have found by publishing students art, students find a passion for their art and the publication of their art. By publishing art, students must analyze their art when deciding what to publish.
The students at our school are brilliant learners who are engaged in classroom learning, technology, and the arts.
Many students do not have access to technology at home and we strive to teach them about technology at school. Students spend an average of 2 hours a week in art and music developing their creative side of learning.
As an art teacher, I find creative ways to incorporate classroom learning to the art room while creatively incorporating the principles and elements of art. Students love engaging and exploring art while tackling everyday learning and problems. They have learned and continue to learn how art is necessary in our world and how everything we see is related to art.
My Project
The students will use the iPad to upload completed student artwork to an online art museum. I have found by publishing student artwork, the students feel a sense of pride and accomplishment in their artwork. By allowing them to publish in class, students will need to analyze their artwork to decide whether it is at the level they feel it should be in order to be published.
Students will also have the opportunity to use the iPad to scan QR readers for vocabulary works to help them gain a better understanding of art terms.
My goal is to have students record a brief video explaining their art and the elements and principles they have selected for their artwork. I select artwork to be displayed in the hallway and I feel that a QR reader uploaded with a video would enhance learning and boost a students confidence for their art and their skills as an artist.
By having an iPad in the classroom, students will be able to upload their completed artwork to the online museum.
In the past week of publishing to the online museum, I have seen and heard students analyzing their artwork to determine if it is ready for publishing. We have only been apart of the museum for a week but I have seen and heard so much excitement from students and parents. They will also be able to create and read QR readers for their artwork and vocabulary words in the classroom.
