My Students

I work in a district that just added Physical Education to their Elementary schools last year. We just started our second year of Physical Education and the kids are excited and ready to be physically fit. It has been five or six years since I was able to attend the IAPHERD conference in St. Charles. I have been able to get ideas, lessons and new units to teach along with classroom management and technology improvements through my attendance at IAPHERD.

I am dedicated to improving my program in some shape or form each year.

I am introducing mileage club during class and lunch recess this year, and after attaining new gym mats we will be introducing mat drills and tumbling this year. I spent 17 years in one district, and last year I switched districts and I am the Elementary Physical Education Coordinator for the District. I not only love teaching my students, but I love working with and helping the other Physical Education teachers in the district.

My Project

Presenters from all over the world will be there to lecture on what is new and up and coming in the world of physical education. I will be watching and learning from the best in my profession. I have used past conferences to improve my physical education program in the past.

This conference will allow me to come back to my district and pass on to the other 6 physical education teachers in the district all that I have learned or picked up from the best in the profession.

I look forward to taking my program to the next level with all the things I will learn. Not to mention, the ability to provide new lessons, activities and ideas as the district physical education coordinator.
