My Students
Hello, I am a Per-K teacher here in Richmond, Virginia working with kids in low poverty communities. Pre-K is such an exciting group of mixed interests and abilities. Some of my students are learning to read, write, and count, while some of their classmates are learning to hold a paintbrush or write on paper. Our group loves to play outside, learn new games, and boogie to a sweet tune. Students at my school are compassionate, hard-working, and creative. As English Language Learners, books are so important to my students they have often begun to like art a lot due to our teaching and learning virtual!
My Project
These lap desks will make a difference in my students' learning because, currently the seating that I have in my room does not allow children to social distance, and be interactive. This year my district is looking to have children be 3ft apart, so I would love for the student to have different options on ways to sit instead of being at a table all day. I would like to still be able to host small groups with students and not have to use another student's desk or space. I would like not to have to worry about them being apart from each other or being able to see the board.
