This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As an ENL teacher, the materials I'm requesting for my classroom will be used by all of my students during our stan-alone sessions and integrated sessions. I will begin by introducing the tittle and author of the books. I will be instructing my students on how to use the books appropriately by identifying the cover, spine, pages as well as the other components of the books.

I will teach my students how to identify key vocabulary words that we will learn during our lesson, then my students can add identified vocabulary words to their word banks which we will use to further build on their vocabulary skills.

Because my students are entering and emerging language learners, the leveled books will give them the sense of confidence they need while reading materials that are on their academic proficiency level. The social and emotional materials I have ordered will also help build on vocabulary skills that will students identify their emotions and feelings during our lesson. Being able to effectively use language to express our emotions are an important part of our learning experience. I want to be able to give my students the tools they need to be able to identify how they are feeling in the begging, during and at the end of our lesson.
