My students need an iPad to access the many apps that will help them to learn about coins, their values, and making change, and improve their personal finance awareness.
iPads have many apps to add to a student's economic learning journey, using money apps to help their personal finance education and rewards for their hard work is a win win activity. Not only will they learn about money, but they will use a reward system that pays them in minutes of tablet use.
I have a self-contained special education classroom of 12 students that are eager to learn in their own way.
Many of my students are autistic and have difficulty focusing and learning using traditional teaching methods. The school is a high poverty school with over 75% of the students receiving free or reduced price lunches and funds are not available to allow many students access to electronic tablets, iPads, computers, or the Internet.
My Project
The students in my self-contained special education classroom learn in many different ways and motivated by different things. When they work hard for a reward it needs to be something that excites them. The diverse abilities and learning styles of my students create the need for different teaching methods and motivators. I would love for them to be excited about getting to do their lesson on the iPad today or to receive minutes on the tablet to play with whichever educational apps they would like after working hard on their lesson. Not only would they have something that excites them as a paycheck but the reward will also be educational with all the apps available today. I am asking for an iPad to be donated to my classroom so students will become more economically aware while working for the ability to use a new resource in the classroom.
Due to the limited funds available for teachers to purchase materials for their classrooms, I have not been able to acquire this resource for my students.
I would love for my students to experience learning with this new technology as they advance their personal financial education. Please can you help make this happen?
