My Students
Fifth grade is the year before my students embark on a new journey entering middle school and learning more about themselves. I've always strived to bring high engagement with purposeful learning incorporating real-life scenarios into my classroom. Students are taught to be respectful, learn responsibility and accountability, and have a love for learning.
My Project
This year teaching 5th grade I need to revamp my treasure box prizes. Now I am able to have various rewards more appropriate for older students. They will be placed in my treasure box for the students to earn or be prizes for them to earn through out the week. In my class, I choose a "leader of the week" which is someone set apart than the rest of the students for various reasons. This person changes weekly and I am striving to have a top tiered prize that is meaningful and special. These prizes will provide a variety of different rewards for whether they're being awesome students or working really hard to make a goal. Thinking with the end in the mind, these prizes help the students reach their full potential.
