Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, many of my students face challenges in and out of school and in their homes. School is a place of refuge for some, and I want to provide ample opportunities for them to shine where they are in their development. As their teacher, I see a group of wonderful children full of energy and a willingness to jump in and try new things.
Children inherently want an environment of kindness and these books will help me teach them how to be a kind friend.
Many times they just need the tools to know how to act in situations. Books are one way to help foster this social emotional learning. Please help me build my library so I can come along side my students and teach them compassion and kindness.
