This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"The difference between someone who is in shape, and someone who is not in shape, is the individual who is in shape works out even when they do not want to". Unknown Help my students become physically active and healthy through team sports.

I am extremely honored to be the teacher of a group of second graders who are full of curiosity, energy, and exuberance to learn and have new experiences.

Our school is located in a high-crime and poor in resources neighborhood in South Los Angeles where places with opportunities for learning are scarce or simply not available. Our school is also a Title 1 school, which means most of our students qualify for free lunch.

My Project

My students have physical education daily. I'm usually borrowing materials to provide them with fun and engaging team sports and games during this time. With scarves, activity mats, beanbags, jump ropes and assorted balls, my students will be able to participate in small group and whole group sports, activities, and games that will surely provide them with a learning experience that will only benefit them. They will learn to cooperate, share, and problem solve just to name a few of the benefits of these material.

The donation of these materials will motivate my students to participate and gain an appreciation for team sports and activities.

They will hopefully become long-life people who live active and healthy lives to break cycles of inactive and unhealthy lifestyles.
