My students need 12 math games, resources, and activities, including write & wipe number lines, Digitz Multiplication Games, a Magnetic Math Manipulatives Library and a set of Hands-On Math Listening Centers .
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I am a third grade inclusion teacher in a charter school that believes that all students deserve an equal and superior education. We believe that the achievement gap in America is a solvable problem, and we work hard everyday to solve this problem.
My students and I have been working very hard this year to learn as much as possible. However, a lot of our day is filled with issues that have nothing to do with school. Many students come to school hungry, or upset because of negative situations they have witnessed outside of school. My school is new and I am trying to fill my classroom with materials that will show my students how very special and capable they are. My staff and I at my school may be the only people telling our students how wonderful they are. I tell them everyday and I want to use these materials to show them.
This year we have decided to departmentalize our classes. This means that each teacher teaches a particular subject and the students switch classes. I am the math teacher! I want to fill my room with math materials that will invigorate my students learning. I want my students to enjoy math and use the games I am ordering to have fun while they are learning! Some of the materials I am asking for will allow me to more effectively teach my students the necessary information. It is very challenging to teach a subject without materials to describe what you mean. Many of the resources I ordered will also allow students to practice math in real life situations. I think it is so important for students to know why it is important for them to know this information.
I know my students are the next lawyers, doctors, teachers, and Presidents of this country. However, they have every obstacle in their way. Please help me help them. You can make the difference in these students lives. You can help me convince my students that they all can go to college, and that they CAN DO ANYTHING THEY PUT THEIR MIND TO!!!! My students and I thank you for your support and help!
