This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I Teach K Conference is an excellent conference for kindergarten teachers to attend. The problem is the high cost of the tuition.
I've been teaching for 18 years at the same school that I started as a Teacher's Assistant 22 years ago.
I taught 2nd grade for 3 years, and it's my 15th year in Kindergarten. Out of the 15 years, it's my 2nd year teaching Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten combo class. I teach at a small title 1 school, and most of my students are learning English as a second language. This year I won the Inspirational Teacher Award, given to top 25 inspirational teachers in LAUSD. Thanks to DonorsChoose.org, I was able to get many projects funded and inspire others to do the same.
My Project
I had a chance to attend the I Teach K Conference last year, but I was only able to afford it for 2 days. The conference was filled with kindergarten teachers from all over the country who were eager to learn and improve their teaching strategies. I'm hoping to attend the conference for the full 4 days this year, so that I can learn and truly bring what I've learned back to my classroom. The presenters at the conference are very famous, well-known educators who will share their success from their classroom. I hope to learn and be a better teacher in all areas, especially on how to teach the writing better in TK and how to manage young challenging students.
I know I will be very motivated to be a better teacher by attending this conference.
I will get tons of ideas and teaching strategies that will benefit my students in many areas. Please consider supporting this project. Thank you so much!
