Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
5th Grade is the best! My students are excited to learn and have so many questions. If I don't know an answer, we research and learn together. My students love riddles and are excited to make their brain stronger everyday by trying our new riddle of the day.
My students crave history.
They love learning about the United States of America. One of their favorite ways to learn parts of history is by the "I Survived" books. We read them together as a class and have great class discussions.
My Project
My students started out the year reading an "I Survived" book about the American Revolution. They still talk about it today five months later. They ask me all the time if we can read another "I Survived" book and learn more about our history.
It is so interesting to think about how much of our history my students do not know.
I want to be able to support my students through reading about the history of the United States. My students have so many questions and we have great discussions about what we have read.
