My Students

My students greet me in the hall every day before class with hugs and smiles, excited for what's to come. We have worked hard to create a trusting safe atmosphere that encourages the students to reach their fullest potential.

I teach a very diverse group of children.

But even with their differences, I know that they all have a strong need to love and be loved. Being close to a military base means that we have a lot of transitions throughout the year. We aim to provide stability and support for each other as much as possible.

My Project

Due to the limited amount of movement in our classrooms with the new regulations, some of our students aren't seen.

Our kids need to be seen and heard.

With a tall drafting chair, the kids that are presenting will be able to be seen and heard all across the classroom. Due to the pandemic, we aren't able to all come to the carpet for presentations. My hopes are that by lifting the student presenting up (literally and figuratively), they will be easily seen and heard by their classmates. Being seen will hopefully boost their confidence when reading aloud.
