This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are inquisitive learners. They love to learn and try their best. They are caring and kind towards each other. They come from Hispanic households in which family is an important part of one's identity. Therefore, our classroom family is also an important part of their learning environment.

These students attend a low-income school in Chicago.

We strive to encourage their academic development but also their social and emotional needs. Sometimes it is hard to meet their needs based on the resources we have, so as educators we have to be as creative as possible.

These children are so excited to learn and are so responsible with the materials that they have. They understand that it is a privilege to have the resources that they do have, and therefore it is their responsibility to take care of them.

My Project

I will use this document camera to project during simultaneously teaching! My students in the classroom will see the work projected while my students at home will see it on their screen. My school's Elmo (projector) won't connect to my computer, therefore I would not be able to show them my models or work if I do not have a way to project. It would be really helpful for all students to be able to see my work in order for them to follow along. It would give us a chance to be able to share work.
