My Project

Our school is set apart from other alternative learning environments because our staff and teachers are committed to fostering our scholars' spiritual, social-emotional, and academic growth. We are genuinely concerned about our scholars' current life and life beyond high school. Many of our scholars come with challenges, and we, as a family, seize every opportunity to celebrate their victories, big or small.

Next month, we have the pleasure of graduating five unique individuals who have been with us for quite some time.

A few are parents who have struggled to balance being a teenager, raising a child, working, and attending school. To celebrate this monumental milestone in their life, I thought it would be a great idea to invite them to dinner at the Cheesecake factory. This dinner will also consist of a group of freshman students who have just embarked on their educational journey in an alternative learning setting. They, too, have unique challenges that have prohibited them from being successful in the traditional academic environment.

This dining experience will allow both sets of students to communicate and learn from one another. My goal is for the seniors to offer advice that may aid the freshman scholars in navigating life's circumstances in hopes that they avoid some of the same mistakes. A few of our staff members, including one of our beloved social workers, a few teachers, and myself, would be present to help initiate meaningful and memorable conversations.
