This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I told my students that my goal this year was to find a book that each of them loved so much that later in life they would say, "Oh, yeah. I read that book in 7th grade."

I told them that there was a book out there for even the most reluctant readers.

To achieve my goal, I must build a diverse library: Newbery winners, classics, new authors, and genres like fantasy, science fiction, and historical fiction. A library that appeals to both successful and struggling readers, filled with literature in which they can see themselves.

My students won't be able to find that book if it's not there.
