Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager learners that truly love music. They also enjoy working together to achieve success. Many are from low to middle socio economic backgrounds. The majority are hispanic, but there also others that come many different parts of the world. I feel so blessed to teach such a diverse group of young people.
My Project
Submitting video assignments is a great way to measure student improvement in a performing groups. Our band students must submit videos in which they record segments of music we are preparing in class. Some students do not own phones or tablets so it becomes difficult to record an send in these type of assignments.
My students really enjoy recording because it helps them to see their progress from week to week.
This new iPad, paired along with the condenser microphone we already own, will make recordings more accessible for many students in our band program.
More than half of students from low‑income households
