My Students

I am a second-year fourth grade teacher. I have been in the district for five years; however, I know many of these students from previous classes. They are a fun group and are anxious to get back to school.

What I love about this group of students is that they are excited about learning and they like to think outside of the box.

They are full of energy, making teaching them enjoyable. I can't wait to see what this year holds for us all!

My Project

Each year the interests of my 4th grade students become more diverse. Trying to keep them engaged in books that keep their reading interest can be difficult. In order to give all of my students plenty of choices for reading and reaching their AR goals, I am constantly looking for and adding new books to our classroom library.

A child can't read if they don't have a book that interests them in their hand!

I have students in my classes that range from liking The Magic Tree House books to The Percy Jackson books to graphic novels. It is my goal to have a book in my library that will interest each of my students.
