This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am designing a reading center where my students will be able to choose from a variety of exciting, culturally relevant, and engaging books at their reading level and above. I will use the book bins to display the books so students have easy access to multiple titles and diverse authors. I will provide designated time in my schedule for students to participate in the reading center where they may sit and read books, or check them out to read at their desk or home. Having access to books is important for young readers. I want my students to foster a love for reading. As a class, we plan to read a book a week to achieve reading a minimum of 36 books by the end of the school year. I'm certain these resources will help us to reach our goal! Thank you for considering my project.
