The kids kept destroying their name tags, writing on the desks, and tearing their books. I encouraged them to rub on the calming strips if they felt they needed to fidget. This is actually working. I see much less destruction than before! The kids sit there and rub the calming strips the whole class period. This has increased the focus in my class.\r\n\r\nThe Pledge of Allegiance banner that I wanted was not ordered, so I got the genre posters as a replacement. This is helpful because I am teaching my students about literature.
