This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The Coronavirus Pandemic has devastated our population of students. My students are bilingual yet non-verbal. Their academic functioning varies tremendously. I also have 3 visually impaired students. I am presently creating individual videos for each of the students to be able to function from home.
Their parents have been a tremendous asset in this process.
It has been difficult for them because many have to work despite the circumstances. Yet they do everything in their power for their child to succeed academically, financially, and physically.
The students have been using our classroom tablets from home, which has been a tremendous help to them. They have been going online to various sites that will help them maintain their academic progress during this pandemic.
My Project
The following materials will be used among the various students, in an exchange program. This will help vary their learning experiences during these difficult times because not all students are able to stay focused on a tablet for a large part of their day. They will be able to maintain the skills they are learning online, as well as add some variety to the activities that they are completing, especially my visually impaired students that need more auditory and tactile manipulatives.
