My Students

I am so lucky to work in the same school that I went to when I was in elementary school! Unfortunately, the technology in the school has not been updated much since I was a student there.

With 30 students and only one teacher in the room, I need all the ways I can to keep the students engaged in meaningful, independent activities.

Students at my school are at a variety of levels, and it can be difficult to challenge each of them at their appropriate level.

My Project

With the help of an i-Pad tablet, students will be more involved in an independent center activity, geared to their level. The i-Pad will help keep students engaged, especially with the level of technology my population is exposed to at home. Using apps and programs through the tablet, I will be able to monitor student progress and provide differentiated instruction in reading while I meet with another small group. The i-Pad will increase the amount of differentiated activities in my classroom.

With the help of the tablet, students will be better prepared for first grade and will be able to achieve new academic heights in their first year of school.

This first year of school is a critical time for students to learn and grow, and am excited by the possibilities an i-Pad provides!
