I teach third and fourth grade in a southwest Virginia elementary school. My kiddos are smart, brave, and kind. Even with all of their wonderful qualities, they have challenged me the most out of all of my years of teaching! We are a Title I school and my students come from all kinds of backgrounds; many of them are raised by people other than their parents and some do not know from where their next meal will come.
My students inspire me every day to become more creative in my teaching methods.
I know that my students can beat their circumstances if I can just give them the right tools for success. Since we are a Title I school, almost half our school is on free- or reduced-lunch. They also have many difficulties facing them at home. In order to reach every student in my class, I would like to attend the Get Your Teach On conference in Charlotte, North Carolina.
I would love to go to the Get Your Teach On conference in Charlotte. The conference is led by Hope and Wade King and other expert presenters as they share their passion and enthusiasm for education. I will get to learn their tips, tricks, best practices, and teacher secrets to building a successful and engaging classroom. I will also have the chance to learn the most current research based strategies, more effective classroom management, and strategies to supersize my math instruction. Once I return from the conference, I know that I will be better able to fully engage my students so they can hop on the learning train to success!
