This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Can you imagine how much copy paper would be saved if the class read alouds could be projected on the wall? Even better, students could highlight, underline, and circle words using the connected laptop which is super motivating!

How would you feel if you were in fourth grade and could barely read?

My students with special needs are frustrated and need some motivating technology and hands-on tools to make reading rewarding. My students are attending an inner city public school, in which all attendees receive free breakfast and lunch. My students face not only difficulties associated with poverty, but also disabilities, ranging from severe ADHD, to learning disabilities and emotional disturbance. My students are in third and fourth grade, and most struggle with reading.

My Project

With an LCD projector, I could incorporate technology into every lesson! My students could read books aloud together. They could watch instructional videos, Skype with students across the country and the world, conduct Internet searches, or create power points.

Although all of my students love technology, most of them don't yet know how to use computers to expand their minds or their view of the world.

Having an LCD projector would enable me to prepare my students for the technological demands of their future workplaces.
