My students are our earliest learners. They come in with the natural wonder and excitement of all young people. The students I teach come from struggling homes with a very high level of poverty and homelessness. Many of our families struggle to meet basic needs, so I hope to ensure my students have all educational needs met in a warm, caring, and fun environment. I strive to teach students a love of learning and to never let go of the wonder they all have at five years old.
My Project
Students need to have the ability to explore their creative side. In order to do this, they need access to different colored paper. The construction paper will allow students to create crafts in order to supplement their learning and make it fun! They also need colored popsicle sticks for learning activities, specifically name building. Students also benefit from velcro as I use it on the word wall in order to make it interactive and empower students. Laminating sheets are used for creating games and name practice cards where students use dry erase markers, playdoh, and other mediums in order to practice their names in a fun, engaging way.
