My Project
As each year passes, we see more and more families struggling to provide their children with the most basic supplies needed for success in school, and one of the most essential items is a backpack. Without a proper backpack, home-to-school communication becomes a challenge, and important letters, grades, and assignments are often lost.
A backpack not only provides a way to carry their school materials, but it also offers a sense of dignity and normalcy during difficult times.
Students feel embarrassed when they have to ask for a plastic bag to carry their things, which can impact their confidence and sense of belonging so I urgently need your help to provide new backpacks for all of our elementary students, but especially for those currently living in homeless shelters or transitional housing. Many of our students come to school with little more than the clothes on their backs, and the need for backpacks is even more pressing.
Unfortunately, essential items like backpacks are not provided by the district, which is why I am reaching out to you now more than ever before. Your generous donation can make a direct and lasting impact on our students' ability to stay organized, carry their belongings with pride, and feel supported in their educational journey. Thank you for helping to provide our students with the backpacks they so desperately need!
