My students are hungry, not only for the food in the cafeteria but also for learning to speak and read.
Most of my students come from a poor socioeconomic background.
I am a speech-language pathologist that works with students grades PreK-8. Many students lack the necessary communication, writing, and reading skills to be successful in the classroom. They are very motivated to become better speakers, writers, and readers. They work hard every day to overcome their communication difficulties. They want to be able to communicate their thoughts with others on paper and when speaking.
My Project
My students need these materials to be the best communicators they can be to be successful students. My students will be able to work on reading comprehension, sequencing, cause and effect, inferencing, basic shapes, colors, numbers, speaking, listening, writing, and phonics in fun and exciting ways through using these materials. This will encourage communication that is necessary to be effective students in the classroom. The laptop will allow them access to thousands of educational experiences through the use of the world wide web. The educational games and materials will make learning fun.
Increasing communication skills by using these materials will impact my students by giving them the help they need to become effective communicators in all environments.
