Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a public school campus in a high poverty area. My classrooms are mostly composed of students with a high poverty background, second language learners, students with learning disabilities and our high achievers with the need of innovative and challenging classrooms.
I live in the area and I know that our students have a lot of potential to succeed.
My students are creative and curious about the world which they unfortunately, have not had the opportunity to visit. My kids are always ready for hands-on activities and projects in which they learn about new places which I always see them eager to visit.
My Project
The Engineering kits on my list will be used as extended learning activities during energy transformation lessons.
The engineering kits will help my students enhance their creativity, empower critical thinking and improve cognitive skills.
Having access to this STEM kits will help us provide learning incentives that will keep students engaged, because they will have fun while learning. Our school district has meaningful classes going on after school, in order to keep our kids off the streets (ACE Program). We will also use them during this extra curricular activity after school.
