This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
HELP!!! We wiggle all the time in kindergarten! My students need engaging learning activities that will keep them from squirming and wiggling all around an assignment.
My 5 and 6 year old students come from a wide range of backgrounds.
They face a variety of challenges daily, such as language barriers, low socioeconomic neighborhoods, and often a lack of parent support. My students attend a high poverty school in Indiana and really need your support!
My Project
With all of the state budget cuts it is nearly impossible to provide my students with meaningful and engaging opportunities. The students become restless when material is presented to them by paper and pencil... why wouldn't they?! They are in kindergarten! The materials I am requesting will provide the chance for my students to really get their "hands-on" learning. Kindergarten students need to be able to read by first grade. These literacy materials will help accomplish this task by focusing on phonemic awareness and phonics.
Have you ever watched a young child squirm and wiggle around from boredom?
Unfortunately, I see this more often than I would like to admit. With your support, I am positive my students would be enthralled by the materials YOU can help provide them. One last question, are you going to help make learning fun for a little "worm?"
