My students need easy-grip ball toss set, alphabet activity balls, heavy duty bowling set, and no-fail froggy catch game to engage in gross motor activities.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a kindergarten teacher in a general education class of 29 students. I want to provide my students with a wonderful learning environment full of hands-on experiences that encourage them to use their creative minds while learning the curriculum and core concepts.
My school is located in a high poverty neighborhood and a lack of funding requires that teachers spend their own money to provide many of the resources for their students.
My students are enthusiastic learners who deserve the best education and materials to support their learning.
My Project
I am requesting the items in this project to encourage my students to get active and have fun while learning a variety of gross motor skills. I love the alphabet balls because they bring literacy into physical education lessons. The froggy toss and catch mitts are a wonderful way to have P.E. in the classroom on rainy days. The giant bowling set will be a great "team" activity where children will need to learn to wait their turn and cheer on their partner to make a strike! The scoop and catch game helps to build eye hand coordination and because there are six scoops, my students can be working together in a small group at one of my PE rotations. I love the idea of teaching skills through games and play. Young children are much more likely to remain motivated if they are actively involved and having fun. The materials in this project foster that kind of learning!
Whether it be the lack of funding, budget cuts, or the increase of class size, public school teachers face many challenges.
I want to continue to provide my students with a wonderful classroom environment and exciting learning opportunities, and I appreciate your support. Thank you so much for your generosity and partnership. Every donation gets us one step closer to a wish list of wonderful materials!
