it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my Pre-K classroom, snack time is more than just a break: it’s an essential part of my students' learning and development. At this age, children are rapidly growing and developing both physically and cognitively. A healthy snack is critical for their energy levels, concentration, and overall well-being. Most of my students come from low-income households and do not bring in snacks. I want to raise their spirits and use the Donors Choose platform to help them have snacks for the rest of the school year!
The goal of my project is to provide a variety of nutritious snacks that will fuel my students' bodies and minds throughout the school day.
These snacks will consist of nutrient-rich options that will help support brain development, boost energy, and teach children about making healthy food choices. Some options that I found were granola bars, crackers and applesauce.
Additionally, snack time will serve as an opportunity for my pre-k students to practice social skills such as sharing, communicating with peers, and developing self-regulation. It’s a chance to learn about healthy eating habits while bonding with classmates and teachers in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
