My Students

We are a preschool classroom where we can not ask parents for anything. Our students could really use some snacks to help them get through the day.

We have 16 students from varying culture and economic statuses.

They arrive at school at 8 am and leave our rooms at 2:45pm. Most come to school in time to catch a breakfast and all are served a lunch. However some go home to nothing and complain they are still hungry.

My Project

We will be able to sit down and enjoy a snack on a daily bases. We tried to make healthy choices based on what was available avoiding any allergies we have in the classroom. Our students will no longer have to ask if they are going to eat before they head for home because they will know it is an option.

These students do not always get something when they go home.

School is their safety place where they get all the essentials they need to get by from day to day. We do provide them with a breakfast if they make it to school on time and all students get a lunch but they would benefit from the ability to eat a snack as well.
