My Students
My students live in lower socioeconomic neighborhoods that require support and resources for learning. One of the biggest challenges we are facing is providing updated literacy for all students in our classrooms.
I need books that are appealing to the students through characters they know, up to date themes/ideas, and commonly known books.
These resources will be used to help each student work in literacy within all areas of their learning.
The students and families may not have the financial freedom to provide extra resources above and beyond what is in the school already. By helping provide books, we will help make sure our students continue their learning with ease.
My Project
These books will be provided to our students in our building to help pair with our curriculum. Students need opportunities to learn from books in all areas of learning. These books can be used for social-emotional learning, science, functional pre-academic learning, and functional skills.
These books will be available to all students in the building to help with their pre-academic reading and pair literacy with learning in all areas.
The students and teachers can access these books at any time. The teachers will use these books in their classrooms as a read aloud to teach the curriculum through literacy. The students will use these books to learn basic pre-academic learning skills.
