Help me give my students the important skills and understandings that makeup counting by providing engaging opportunities in counting collections.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are children in grades K through 5 working on developing number sense. They are enthusiastic learners who love doing math.
These materials "collections" will encourage students to count and represent numbers in ways that make sense to them without an adult doing a demonstration first.
They will work with a partner or individually while counting the total number of objects in their collections.
Partners will participate in gallery walks in which they try to figure out how their peers counted their collections/objects.
These counting collections materials will not only support student learning but teacher learning as well.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
