This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students want to design their own kites to fly on kite day with the school. It is a wonderful family event and it is such a valuable moment for relationship building with our school and families. We have been talking about this event for over a month now and it would be fantastic for them to design their very own but we can not do it with out the much needed supplies. Last year we created our own kites because we didn't have the funds for blank kites. Unfortunately they didn't fly so the students were very disappointed.

Having these materials will allow students to all have their own kite to create and take with them.

Plus they will be able to use it whenever they want to in the future.
