This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

It is a challenge every day to get my students' attention to want to learn. They seem to get excited about whatever we are learning when technology is involved. In order to be an effective teacher, I must provide them with opportunities to use technology.

I teach 20 first grade students in a Title 1 school.

All of my students receive free lunch. Although we are a low performing school, we have been making steady progress for the past 3 years. My students come from hard-working families and they love to come to school to learn.

My Project

I am hoping to add a camcorder to our classroom so that my students will be able to film themselves investigating science, exploring experiments, teaching other students, and using their creativity to learn in new ways. The students can become meteorologists, scientists, mathematicians, or create a music video revolving around a science or math concept.

Funding for this project will enable all of my students to be actively involved in their learning.

Students will love creating and viewing their projects. My students are very excited about new technology, but often don't get to experience it. Having a Flip video camera will allow them to learn in a fun and exciting way.
