Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Working in one of the neediest neighborhoods can be a challenge. However, when you have students, who have very little, but show up everyday eager and willing to put their best effort out, it warms your heart and pushes you to do whatever it takes to assist.
Many of the activities are conducted in groups with students sharing materials.
It is important that students feel safe that the materials they are using are clean. In an effort to maintain that feeling of safety, items used along with students desks are cleaned at the end of each week. This requires the use of about 125 wipes weekly. The items I am requesting will help my students in boosting their confidence that they are appreciated and cared for from providing a clean environment to work in.
Who does not like a little gift on their birthday? To let my students know that once they enter my classroom that are family, I will celebrate each and every one of them with a happy birthday gift to let them know they are special.
