Help me give my students hands-on science activities, personalized math games, and math manipulatives for them to solidify essential standards in second grade!
My students are creative and innovative with their learning. They write their own books, support each other, and expand learning beyond the classroom walls. They are not letting COVID setbacks determine the amount of learning that's available to them. My students are defying expectations by working hard in class and outside our class walls by attaining any learning and experiences they can find. They are excited to be back to in-person learning, and I'm excited to encourage their thirst for more knowledge!
My Project
My students have missed opportunities for hands-on play that accelerates learning. The science activities and math manipulatives are going to help my students bridge the gaps they now have from being solely online. The math activities are going to provide needed learning through play, and encourage problem solving through the geometric shape mats. The science activities are going to help students see how science is hands-on, and specific to their world! Students are needing to learn how to use money because this is the only year it's taught in the curriculum. Students need to solidify their understanding, and the best way is for them to play with the money.
