My students need resources to work independently during centers like Reading & Writing Skills Folder Games, Can Do! Math Activity Kits, and Take It to Your Seat Centers.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Remember being given work to do independently at your seat while the teacher worked with another group of students? It was always the same boring assignment. Students need to be engaged so they will want to learn. I am requesting engaging centers to keep students interested while working independently.
My students range from grades K through 3 and have disabilities from mild to moderate, including low and high incidence disabilities such as Learning Disability, Developmental Delay, Autism, Intellectual Disability, and Speech Language Delay.
Our school is located in a high poverty and high crime area.
My students love using centers and working independently while small groups are working with the teacher. All the students are hands-on and learn best when they practice skills in a fun way. Our school is located in a high poverty and high crime area so there is not an abundance of resources at school or at home. It is difficult to keep the students interested when they do not feel the activities they are doing are enjoyable.
My Project
I am requesting Can Do! Reading and Math Activity Kits, Reading and Writing Skills Folder Game Libraries, Math Folder Game Libraries, and Take It To Your Seat Math Centers. The Can Do! activity kits will give students hands-on practice with vocabulary, vowel sounds, sight words, patterning, sorting, numbers & counting, and shapes. They make skill building a blast! Each kit comes with activity cards with simple instructions kids can follow on their own. With the Folder Game Libraries, students just grab a folder filled with everything they need for independent practice, then follow the simple instructions to build skills at their own pace. The Take It To Your Seat centers are perfect for presenting new concepts, reinforcing skills and informally assessing students. The centers align with Common Core State Standards.

These resources will give students a variety of centers that are enjoyable so students can keep their interest while practicing foundational skills in Language Arts and Math. Students will have fun while learning new skills and learning to be independent. Thank you for considering our project.
