My classroom is full of 2nd graders bursting with energy. The students in my classroom left school on Friday, March 13th with just their backpack and empty lunchboxes. Distance Learning has taken us all by surprise. Some of my students and families are not technologically savvy and struggle to access and complete assignments. We didn't get to properly say goodbye to each other which has been particularly hard. Nothing can replace the face to face interaction between teachers and students.
Through a variety of resources and materials we work together to make growth in reading, writing, math, and social/emotional skills despite the circumstances.
My students all learn at different speeds and through different avenues, I hope to use the materials in this project to help them reach their full academic potential for this very unusual school year!
My Project
As we are teaching from our homes, a tool that I would rely on daily is my document camera. However I was unable to bring my camera to my house so I have been rigging up different ways to share materials with my students. These are not always successful. Having access to a document camera, projector and computer stand would greatly improve my lesson quality for my students.
These materials would allow be to share assignments, books, and other materials with my students from my home.
As I rebuild my classroom at my house these are tools and materials that have been greatly needed but not accessible to me. The computer stand will help during our video chats and lessons. The document camera and stand will allow me different avenues of sharing materials with my students.
